CHICAGO, IL – Sheridan Capital Partners (“Sheridan”) announced today the closing of Sheridan Legacy Fund I, L.P., a $150 million private equity limited partnership formed to make growth equity and later stage investments in lower middle market businesses.
Sheridan Capital Partners was founded by Jonathan B. Lewis, a veteran private equity professional with prior principal experience at PNC Equity Partners, Lake Capital, and William Blair Capital Partners, and Michael J. Allietta, who has a deep operations and consulting background from his experience at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. The fund will target investments between $10 and $30 million in equity in support of leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and large minority financings of entrepreneurially led companies and closely held family businesses.
Jonathan Lewis, Partner said: “We are extremely pleased to have reached our target for this debut fund. For us, Sheridan represents an opportunity to return to an investment approach that is conspicuously absent from today’s marketplace, namely, taking a long-term, partnership-based view of value creation. To the owners and managers of companies we invest in, we are committed to bringing resources that they can’t find elsewhere – solutions that are tangible, specific, and disproportionate, and for our investors, we are committed to creating better alignment of interests and incentives than many of the structures that exist today.”
Michael Allietta, Partner continued: “We intend to have a direct impact on our companies. Though many private equity firms talk about operational focus, we have the means, experience, and fundamentally, the desire to get involved and work alongside our partners to deliver on those promises. We are working every day to achieve the best possible results with our companies, and that is what we love.”
