Rick Long

Executive Advisory Team, Provider and Equipment Services

Rick Long is the retired President and Chief Executive Officer of Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI). He joined CDI in 2004 and held several senior management roles leading business development and market operations before becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2011 and ultimately President and CEO in 2015.

Rick led the management team that grew CDI from an outpatient diagnostic imaging operator with fewer than 20 centers in 5 states to more than 150 centers across 23 states. During his tenure, CDI also added a mobile imaging company that expanded to over 150 mobile imaging units. By the time Rick retired, CDI had become the second-largest outpatient diagnostic imaging provider in the United States. Over his 17 years with the organization, CDI completed three successful investor exits.

Since retiring from CDI, Rick has served on several boards of healthcare companies. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of United Theranostics, a startup healthcare services company delivering a revolutionary new cancer therapy in the outpatient setting. In this role, Rick built the management team, established the company’s operating and legal framework, secured financing for its initial growth, and ultimately transitioned the CEO role to a successor.

Rick has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, including executive oversight of Finance, Sales and Marketing, Business Development, Operations, Quality, and Compliance. He currently serves as a board member, strategic advisor, and consultant to multiple healthcare companies.

Earlier in his career, Rick held market leadership roles at Allergan, Inc. and GE Healthcare.
