Bob Nahmias
Executive Advisory Team, VisionBob Nahmias has spent nearly 40 years in the optical industry. From 1999 to 2015, he was President and CEO of The Hilsinger Company (Hilco Vision), a leading global supplier of eyewear and eye care products, and Bob continues to consult for the company as Senior Advisor, M&A. During his tenure, which has spanned four different private equity-led ownership groups, Hilco Vision grew nine-fold, and the company’s global footprint expanded substantially.
Bob began his industry career in 1978 with Bausch & Lomb’s contact lens business, where he held multiple sales and marketing management positions. Later he served as Vice President of Sales for American Optical’s ophthalmic lens and frames business, and then as Executive VP and General Manager of Gentex Optics, now a division of global market leader Essilor. During Bob’s more than 7 years at Gentex, the polycarbonate lens category and the company experienced exponential growth, leading to Gentex’ successful sale in 1995.
Bob served on the board of Toronto-based The Orthotic Group from 2008-2012 and is a current member of the board of Lynx Franchising in Atlanta, GA.
Bob was born and raised on Long Island and has resided in Duxbury, MA since 1984. He is a 1974 graduate of Gettysburg College where he earned a BA in Economics. Bob currently sits on the board of SCP portfolio company Atlantic Vision Partners.
