Garry Welsh

Garry Welsh is an accomplished leader, advisor, and investor with a focus on Healthcare Payer Services for Private Equity–owned businesses. Throughout his career, he has built and led best-in-class organizations both in the U.S. and globally. His expertise lies in guiding strategies and execution to achieve breakthroughs in growth, operational scalability, and financial performance. Known for his passion for talent, Garry has earned a reputation for building high-performing leadership teams.

Garry’s track record of value creation includes extensive M&A experience across Payer Services and related segments. He has also advised PE clients on exit strategies and portfolio company readiness for sale.

In the U.S., Garry has held transformational leadership roles at Smart Data Solutions, a payer-focused leader in healthcare process automation, and Zenith American Solutions, a market-leading TPA.

Garry is the founder and leader of Carlyon Advisors, an advisory firm dedicated to supporting Private Equity clients investing in U.S. healthcare. In this capacity, he has advised on multiple M&A transactions involving TPAs, technology assets, and point solutions for group, self-insured, and individual healthcare markets.

Before relocating to the U.S. in 2006, Garry was based in the U.K., where he served in transformational leadership roles at Barclays Bank, Aviva Investors, and Aviva Healthcare (a major health insurance carrier).

Garry earned his MBA from Rollins College and currently serves on the board of SCP portfolio company Heathos.
